Player context and cached data

EliteMobs checks for a player context and cached player data before resolving any placeholder, including the server-wide top level and deprecated guild ranks. Its own player values come from memory. With Vault enabled, the money placeholder calls the economy provider, whose storage behavior is outside this cache guarantee.

Two placeholder responses come from this:

  • Only online players! — no online player context was supplied, for example for an offline player or a null-player parse.
  • Uninitialized player data! — the player's data is not in memory yet (usually right after join, or after the player left). Wait for the data to load; there is no setting to change this.
Deprecated Guild Rank Placeholders

The following guild rank placeholders return "N/A" after the player-context and cache checks above. The guild rank system was removed in EliteMobs 10; these identifiers remain for existing configurations.

PlaceholderDescription
%elitemobs_player_active_guild_rank_numerical%Deprecated. Always returns "N/A".
%elitemobs_player_maximum_guild_rank_numerical%Deprecated. Always returns "N/A".
%elitemobs_player_active_guild_rank_name%Deprecated. Always returns "N/A".
%elitemobs_player_maximum_guild_rank_name%Deprecated. Always returns "N/A".

%elitemobs_player_shortened_guild_rank%Deprecated. Always returns "N/A".

How to use

  1. Install PlaceholderAPI alongside EliteMobs. EliteMobs registers its own expansion; no EliteMobs eCloud download is needed.
  2. Configure a plugin that displays PAPI values, such as a chat, title, scoreboard or tab-list plugin.

Plugins that display placeholders

Chat

VentureChat is one example with PAPI support. Follow the chat plugin's formatting instructions.

Other integrations

See the PlaceholderAPI plugin directory for more integrations. Check whether a plugin displays placeholders or only provides its own.

Each integration's author maintains its configuration and support.

  1. Add the placeholder (the list is above) in the plugin you chose.

Use the placeholder syntax required by the plugin displaying the value. PlaceholderAPI's normal syntax is %elitemobs_...%; some integrations provide a separate brace syntax. To check EliteMobs directly, run /papi parse YOUR_USERNAME_HERE %elitemobs_player_combat_level% in game with your actual username. See the PlaceholderAPI command reference for parse options.

If this returns the expected level but your display is wrong, check the displaying plugin's syntax, player context and refresh settings. Include both outputs when asking its author for help.
