Use Your Own AI with the Forge MCP Server
Nightbreak Forge's plugin knowledge is also an MCP server. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other assistants that support MCP can use it to write and check content for EliteMobs, BetterStructures, FreeMinecraftModels, EternalTD, CannonRTP and ResurrectionChest. ResourcePackManager and BetterFood are covered through this wiki only.
You don't need an account or a key. The server is read-only: it keeps nothing you send, and it can't reach your Minecraft server or your files.
This is not as powerful as Forge's own AI Assistant at forge.nightbreak.io, which has been fine-tuned for the best results and works right in your open workspace.
Connect it
The server URL is:
https://forge.nightbreak.io/mcp
-
Claude Code: run this in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http nightbreak https://forge.nightbreak.io/mcp -
Claude on the web or desktop: open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the URL.
-
Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients: add a remote HTTP MCP server with the URL.
The Forge start page has the same steps under MCP setup.
What your assistant can do
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
get_authoring_notes | Where each config type's files go, and the plugin rules Forge's own assistant follows |
list_config_types | Every config type, with its server path and format (YAML or Lua) |
get_config_schema | One type's fields, defaults, required keys and allowed values |
validate_config_files | Runs Forge's validator on YAML and Lua files, including references between the files you send |
search_wiki, fetch_wiki_page | Searches and reads this wiki |
search_plugin_source, fetch_plugin_source_file | Searches and reads the plugins' and MagmaCore's public source code |
get_local_lua_reference, validate_lua_power_draft | The Lua scripting reference and its static checks |
Get good results
- Ask your assistant to read
get_authoring_notesbefore it writes anything. - Have it run
validate_config_fileson every file it writes before you put them on your server. Send related files together, such as a boss and its powers, so references between them are checked. A file you don't send is reported as not found. - Give each file its full server path, such as
plugins/EliteMobs/custombosses/frost_king.yml, so Forge can tell what type it is. - Test new content on a test server first, as you would with anything you write by hand.
