Prestige System
The Prestige System has been removed in EliteMobs 10. The entire guild rank and prestige progression has been replaced by the new skill leveling system. Old guild/prestige player data is preserved in the database but is no longer used by the plugin.
PlaceholderAPI placeholders related to prestige and guild ranks (such as %elitemobs_player_prestige_guild_rank_numerical%, %elitemobs_player_active_guild_rank_numerical%, etc.) will now return "N/A".
For information on the new progression system, see the Skill-Based Gear Limiter page.
What Replaced Prestige?
In EliteMobs 10, player progression is handled by the skill system. Instead of purchasing guild ranks and prestiging, players now:
- Level individual weapon skills (Swords, Axes, Bows, Crossbows, Tridents, Hoes, Maces, Spears) by killing elite mobs with the corresponding weapon type
- Level their Armor skill passively on every kill at 1/3 the weapon XP rate
- Gain health bonuses from their Armor skill level (+1 heart per level above 1) instead of from prestige tiers
- Unlock gear through skill-based gear restrictions instead of guild tier loot limits
Migration
When the skill system is activated for the first time, all players start fresh at Level 1 in all skills. The old guild and prestige data is preserved in the database but unused. Players will receive a one-time notification explaining the new system when they first log in after the migration.
Soulbind
The soulbind enchantment still exists in EM10. Items are soulbound to the player who receives them and cannot be picked up by other players. However, the prestige tier component of soulbinding is no longer active -- all new items are created with prestige level 0.
