Current EliteMobs premade content

This catalog covers dungeon and arena packages. Versions and counts were checked on October 4, 2026 against the current downloaded packages. Counts refer to packaged YAML definitions, including boss phases/reinforcements and item variants; they do not count live spawns, guaranteed drops or shared plugin defaults. Check setup requirements and the linked package page when installing or updating.

Dungeon size labels describe the encounter layout. A dynamic Lair or Minidungeon still creates an instance for its admitted group. Difficulty labels below are recommendations; the in-game menu shows the selectable modes for the installed package.

Disguise labels refer to LibsDisguises usage in the package and its linked Guild teleporter, including inherited plugin defaults. Custom models are separate from disguises.

Static Level Dungeons

These dungeons have fixed level ranges and do not scale to player level. Players should ensure they are within the recommended level range before entering.

Enchantment Challenge Sanctums

These solo sanctums are tied to the EliteMobs enchanting system. An enchantment attempt can select a challenge from the installed challenge packages. Winning grants the upgrade; defeat fails the attempt and can destroy the item according to the configured critical-failure chance. If no installed challenge is available, the attempt succeeds directly. Challenge startup or provider failures are handled separately from losing the fight. See Item upgrade system for costs and item handling.

Dungeon Types

Note: the following describes the premade content of EliteMobs. What you do in your server can be customized, and the features described below are simply a convenient way of grouping different types of content up. The content you make for your server can follow entirely different formats and rules.

Open dungeons

Open dungeons are always open to all players. This means that any amount of players can enter the dungeon at any time to fight the same bosses. This is great for casual grouping up and farming, but can be complicated due to respawn timers.

For WoW / FF14 fans, this is the equivalent of open-world zones with world bosses.

What's a Lair?

Lairs are a type of small dungeon which focuses on one big boss fight.

The structure: Lairs are usually restricted to a build around a big combat arena, and are the smallest size category of EliteMobs.

The fights: Players are expected to group up in groups of 5 to challenge the boss, as they are usually very challenging.

For FF14 fans, this is the equivalent of world bosses.

What's a Minidungeon?

Minidungeons are a type of medium sized dungeon which usually contains 3-15 minibosses and a big boss, as well as a lot of "trash" mobs which are meant to be "farmed" for coins and gear by players.

The structure: The smallest minidungeons are the size of large ships, and the largest minidungeon can be quite expansive maps with hundreds of mobs roaming around for fights.

The fights: Minidungeons can be solo'd by veteran players, but groups of 2-3 players are recommended.

For WoW / FF14 fans, this is the equivalent of world bosses in zones that are challenging but rewarding to farm.

What's an Adventure?

Adventures are full adventure maps. They include quests lines, npcs, large amounts of minibosses and bosses and can even contain their own arenas or dungeons inside of them.

The structure: These are always very large maps with dozens of large builds split off into different zones. They can also include secondary and tertiary worlds for several reasons.

The fights: Adventures can be solo'd by veteran players, but grouping up another player is recommended.

For WoW / FF14 fans, this is essentially the whole base game of questing and finding dungeons and fighting bosses along a questline.

Instanced Dungeons

After a crash, leftover instance folders are retained on startup. A name such as <world>_123 alone does not establish that EliteMobs owns a folder. Normal running instances clean up the worlds they create; inspect any crash leftovers before removing them manually.

Instanced dungeons create separate worlds for each admitted group, allowing several groups to fight independently. Available server resources limit the number of simultaneous instances. Each package defines minPlayerCount and maxPlayerCount, defaulting to 1 and 5.

There are lot of features to Instanced Dungeons, which you can read about here.

If the initiating player belongs to a party, current EliteMobs builds snapshot the entire party and start a clickable ready check before creating or joining an instanced dungeon. The initiator is ready automatically; every other member must accept the exact dungeon and difficulty (and selected level for dynamic dungeons). Capacity, package permissions, online state, and active-instance state are checked for the whole group, and EliteMobs' cancellable MatchJoinEvent preflight must accept every member, so a failed preflight moves nobody. EliteMobs' PlayerJoinDungeonEvent is a non-cancellable notification fired only after admission. Personal item-enchantment challenges remain solo.

Note: not all instanced dungeons are dynamic, but all dynamic dungeons are instanced.

For WoW and FF14 fans, this is the equivalent of dungeons / duties instancing.

Sanctums

Sanctums are the equivalent of instanced Lairs. This means that they focus around one huge boss fight. This is the hardest type of EliteMobs content, especially for the harder difficulties.

The structure: These are usually small maps but can have very dynamic combat arenas. They are usually focused around a single large room.

The fights: Supposed to be fought by 5 players. At the highest difficulties, this is the hardest EliteMobs content there is.

For FF14 fans, this is the equivalent of Trials.

Dungeons

Dungeons are the equivalent of instanced Minidungeons. This is the most traditional MMORPG type of dungeon, where players party up and go through a gauntlet of trash mobs and minibosses to fight a final boss.

For WoW and FF14 fans, this is the equivalent of Dungeons.

The structure: These are usually medium-sized maps, larger than minidungeons but much smaller than Adventures.

The fights: Supposed to be fought by parties of 5, harder than open dungeons but easier than Sanctums.

Raids

RAID is available as a size label, but it is not a separate content type or a promise of raid-specific mechanics. This catalog currently lists no premade raid package.

Dynamic Dungeons

Dynamic Dungeons let players choose a mob level and then a difficulty mode before entering. The level menu starts at max(5, combatLevel - 5) and advances by 5 up to min(200, combatLevel + 5). It does not offer arbitrary levels from 1 to 200, and sufficiently high combat levels can leave no choices. The chosen level applies to the instance's EliteMobs bosses; ordinary world entities are not all rewritten.

Read more about how dynamic dungeons work here.

Note: all dynamic dungeons are instanced, but not all instanced dungeons are dynamic.

Out-of-combat food regeneration

With [Alpha] Advanced Combat System disabled, dungeons.yml enables legacy food regeneration by default through enableDungeonFoodRegeneration: true. A living online player in Survival or Adventure qualifies while in their active dungeon instance's world or in any world loaded by an installed EliteMobs package, whether or not that package protects it. Food must be below 20, and an existing Saturation effect prevents another pulse.

An eligible player leaves combat after dungeonFoodRegenerationCombatTimeoutSeconds without qualifying enemy damage, default 20 seconds, then receives level-I saturation on the next dungeonFoodRegenerationIntervalSeconds pulse, default 5 seconds. Both settings have a one-second minimum and run on game ticks. Positive uncancelled enemy damage before absorption counts; environmental damage alone does not. This replenishes food rather than directly healing.

Enabling [Alpha] Advanced Combat System disables these legacy pulses and uses that mode's combat rules. The retained dungeonFoodRegenerationCombatStartMessage and dungeonFoodRegenerationCombatEndMessage keys are currently unused; Advanced Combat supplies its own transition messages. See Advanced Combat.

Dungeon lockout feedback uses a HUD notification, chat, and a title when dungeonLockoutTitle is nonblank. The retained key dungeonLockoutSubtitle names the HUD text, not an on-screen subtitle. Lockouts restrict eligible boss rewards, not dungeon entry.

Arenas

Arenas are wave-based survival areas in which players get rewarded for defeating waves. The arenas usually have some lore around them.

The structure: Arena-sized and arena-shaped.

The fights: Premade arenas can be played solo or by a group. Their arena configuration controls the player limit, which defaults to 5; custom arenas can use a different limit.
